Over the past 15 years several grasses in the genus Brachypodium have been developed into a leading model system for functional and comparative studies in plant biology and crop improvement. Today, Brachypodium spp. are used by hundreds of laboratories worldwide studying a wide variety of topics ranging from abiotic stress tolerance, pathogen resistance, evolution, pan-genomics, polyploidy, development and more. The Brachypodium conferences have been held every 2 years bringing this research community together to share and discuss the latest discoveries, tool and resource developments, establish collaborations and identify avenues for future research. After successful venues in France, Italy, USA and China, the Universidad de Zaragoza has the privilege to host the 4th International Brachypodium Conference 2019 from June 25 to June 28 in Huesca (Spain).
We expect the Huesca conference to be attended by 200 delegates mainly from Europe, USA and Asia. The agenda will include 10 keynote speakers, approximately 32 short talks selected from submitted abstracts and more than 180 posters. The contributions will cover the following scientific areas:
- Natural diversity and evolution
- Comparative genomics and transcriptomics
- Development and growth
- Regulatory elements, networks and epigenomics
- Polyploidy and perenniality
- Ecology and environment
- Adaptation to abiotic and biotic constrains
- Crop and biomass crop translation

As part of the planning of the 4th International Brachypodium Conference we are writing to ask your company for sponsorship of the meeting.
